
BCTC’s Library Roles and Responsibilities
The BCTC’s Library Department manages the research and study components of the Bong County Technical College with the aim to enhancing and achieving the overarching vision and core values upon which it operates.
Driven by these said vision and values, the Department of Library performs the following functions:
- Manages the BCTC’s research centers for students of the institution, faculty, employees and internal & external research for staffs development, as well as individual, organization (International, national or local) researchers, with the aim of conducting study or research within the institution (BCTC)
- The Library provides monitoring and security for reference materials, such as books, periodicals journals, and e-library by using a recording systems that comprise of database for tracking books record, sign-in log for students and library users after presenting valid student ID Card before picking up a reference material, and students also place their backpacks, phones and other belongs in an enclosed lock up at the back of the Librarian to avoid book theft in the library,
- The library ensures that there is a quietude (Total silent) within the library during reading or study time, by making sure that students turn their phones off after signing for a book or reference material.
- The BCTC Library Department also have internet (WI-FI) services for study and research purposes; this means, if users see it necessary to use a book for study or research; or preferably use the internet for the same purpose, the library can grant either of the options;
- Library users also use the desktop computers to type their works (Assignment and other documents) for their studies.
Number of staff
Currently, the BCTC Library has two staffs managing the Department of Library to enhance the smoothness of activities. They are as follows:
- Yamah A. N. Coleman: Librarian––Acting Librarian
- John O. K. Flomo: Assistant Librarian
